Many developments have accelerated global changes for the past year. The main of them in the global economy is reduction of trade relations between Russia and the West, which led to emergence of new logistical chains in transportation of goods.
The attempt of the Central Asian states to revitalize the Silk Road and to get access to the global sea ports gained a new impetus. Development of transport corridors in the region, both ground and air routes, has become important as never before.
In such situation Kyrgyzstan gained new opportunities of integration into new transport corridors. The most vivid example of changes is signing of the Samarkand memorandum on construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway in September 2022.
AKIpress news agency is holding the roundtable for exchange of views between stakeholders of this process. Was construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway inevitable? What specific opportunities our airports have obtained? Will the ports in the Indian Ocean become more accessible for Kyrgyzstan?
AKIpress suggests to discuss the above and other questions at the roundtable discussion on Transport Corridors in Central Asia: New Opportunities for Kyrgyzstan.
